Rick McCabe grew up in Rye and experienced all of the wonderful opportunities this great city has to offer: a leading school district, strong public safety, vibrant recreation programs, a bustling downtown, beautiful parks and green spaces.
Currently Chair of the Rye Recreation Commission, Rick is ready to take another step in serving his fellow citizens as mayor.
- Successful 25-year career in Corporate Communications and Public Relations. Most recently, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications at CBS.
- A “lifetime” ago, General Manager of the beloved Black Bass Grille on Boston Post Road.
- Attended Osborn School, Rye Middle School, Rye High School and Fordham University.
- Volunteer coach with Rye Little League for 10 years in addition to Rye YMCA youth basketball and Rye Town Youth Football.
- Beth (Morgan) McCabe, Rick’s wife of 20 years and a lifelong Rye resident, is a career educator. A former public elementary school teacher, she currently teaches preschool here in town.
- Beth and Rick’s two sons attended Milton School and are now Garnets themselves at Rye High School and Rye Middle School.
- Rick's parents, Kathy and retired Rye Police officer Rich McCabe, still live right here in town.
